Blue Tide Varsity Football
The Blue Tide Varsity Football team has been holding practices to prepare for the upcoming season. A scrimage game will be played against Glynn Academy High School on Thursday night, 7:00 at Veteran's Stadium. Support the Blue Tide!Griffin Ridge Fishing Tournament
A Fishing Tournament was held recently at Griffin Ridge. The event was open to all children. Prizes were awarded in several categories. This Fishing Tournament was enjoyed by all who attended.Recreation Football and Cheerleading
Registration for Long County Recreation Department Football and Cheerleading will take place until Friday, August 29. This is open for children ages: 7 & 8, 9 & 10, 11 & 12 for football and 9 and up for Cheerleading. The sign-up forms are available at the offices of Walker Middle School and Smiley Elementary School. Forms are also at the Long County Recreation Department.Long County Touchdown Club Raffle
The Long County Touchdown Club is sponsoring a raffle to benefit the Long County Football team. Tickets are $10.00 each with a prize of $2000.00. We are limiting the sale to 500 tickets and the drawing will be at the Senior Night home football game on November 7th. People can contact any Touchdown Club member to purchase a chance.
Recreation Football Raffles Chair
On Friday, September 19, the LONG COUNTY RECREATION will host a FOOTBALL RAFFLE. The Long County Rec. Dept. is selling raffle tickets for a solid wood hand painted Blue Tide Rocking Chair (hand painted by Kadee Dasher @ Kadee's Korner). Tickets are $1 and will be sold up until half time at the first home varsity football game.The raffle will take place at the Long County Football Field during half time.

THE 2008 MISS LONG COUNTY WILDLIFE FESTIVAL PAGEANT IS A "WESTERN WEAR" ONLY PAGEANT. IT WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 AT 6:00P.M. AT THE LONG COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL LUNCHROOM. PRACTICE AND DEADLINE WILL BE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26 AT 6:00 P.M. THE ENTRY FEE IS $50.00 WHICH INCLUDES BEAUTY, BEST WESTERN WEAR, PRETTIEST SMILE AND OVER-ALL.
IF THERE ARE 40 OR MORE CONTESTANTS WE WILL AWARD TWO OVER-ALL QUEENS. UNDER 40 CONTESTANTS WE WILL ONLY HAVE 1 OVER-ALL QUEEN. WE WILL ALSO HAVE TWO SPECIAL AWARDS FOR "MOST SPONSORS" AND "PEOPLE'S CHOICE". ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TO KIDZ~ETC.NO PAGEANT DRESSES!!
